The high co-existence rate of Blastocystis and Dientamoeba fragilis in human faecal samples and the analysis of demographic and clinical findings

Aim: Blastocystis and Dientamoeba fragilis (D. fragilis) are among the most common protozoon species in human faecal samples. The cross-sectional studies have reported frequencies a variety of populations. However, we very limited information about co-existence rate those protozoans. study aimed to compare D. frequency positive negative samples order determine rate. secondary objective was analyse demographic characteristics gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms relation both infections.
 Material Method: In present study, defined group that included 100 control determined with PCR assay specific small-subunit ribosomal RNA (SS rRNA) gene. A used amplification expected size (863 bp) were considered as positive. addition statistical comparison frequencies, descriptive clinical findings cases analysed retrospectively Pearson chi-square or ANOVA tests.
